A diverse lineup of cruise ships debuted in 2025, with 13 new vessels delivered, ranging from luxury newbuilds to mega ships.
Here’s the list of new vessels that entered service since January:
Mein Schiff Relax

The Mein Schiff Relax was delivered by the Fincantieri shipyard in the first quarter, marking the debut of a new ship class for TUI Cruises.
MSC World America
Cruise Line: MSC Cruises

Shipyard: Chantiers de l’Atlantique (France)

As the second ship in MSC’s World class series, the World America was delivered by the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in early 2025. After crossing the Atlantic with no guests onboard, the ship kicked off its maiden season in Miami in April.
Norwegian Aqua

Following the Norwegian Prima and the Norwegian Viva, the Norwegian Aqua was delivered to Norwegian Cruise Line in early 2025. With a slightly modified design, the 3,571-guest ship debuted in the Caribbean with itineraries departing from Miami and Port Canaveral.
Asuka III

Star of the Seas

Now sharing the title of the world’s largest cruise ship with the 2023-built Icon of the Seas, the Star of the Seas was delivered to Royal Caribbean International in the second quarter. Offering itineraries from Port Canaveral during its maiden season, the 250,800-ton vessel was built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.
Oceania Allura

Constructed at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the Oceania Allura was delivered to Oceania Cruises in the second quarter. A sister to the 2023-built Vista, the 1,200-guest upscale vessel spent its inaugural season in Europe.
Viking Vesta

The Luminara was delivered to The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection in the third quarter. As a sister to the 2024-built Ilma, the ship marked the end of the luxury company’s newbuild program, which included three vessels.

As the seventh and final ship in SunStone Ships’ Infinity series, the Douglas Mawson was delivered by the CMIH shipyard in Q3. The vessel later debuted for its long-term charterer, Aurora Expeditions, in December.
Celebrity Xcel

Disney Cruise Line recently welcomed a third Wish-class ship to its fleet with the delivery of the Disney Destiny. The Meyer Werft-built ship debuted in November, kicking off a series of cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean from Port Everglades.
