The latest edition of the cruise ship orderbook by Cruise Industry News paints a full picture of all new ships set to be introduced through 2036.
According to CIN’s independent research, 67 ships and roughly 170,000 berths are currently on order for approximately 25 brands.

Placing the orderbook value at $57 billion, the new vessels have an average capacity for 2,500 guests, as well as an average size of 115,000 tons.
In 2025, 15 cruise ships are scheduled to be delivered, including six from Fincantieri, three by the Chantiers de l’Atlantique and three from Meyer shipyards in Finland and Germany.
The first ship handed over this year was the Mein Schiff Relax, which was built by Fincantieri and joined TUI Cruises’ fleet in early February.
Other mainstream brands welcoming ships in 2025 include Disney Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean International.
Set to become one of the world’s largest cruise ships, the Star of the Seas will be delivered to the latter from Meyer Turku.
Following the 2023-built Icon of the Seas, the 250,800-ton vessel is scheduled to join the company’s fleet in August.
Princess is welcoming a sister to the Sun Princess this year, with the 175,000-ton Star Princess set for delivery in the third quarter.
In a record-breaking year, Disney Cruise Line is welcoming two ships to its fleet in late 2025, including the 208,000-ton Disney Adventure from MV Werften and the Wish-class Disney Destiny from Meyer Werft.
Other ships set to be delivered this year include MSC’s World America, which will kick off a year-round deployment in the U.S. in April.
On top of two orders in 2024, the Royal Caribbean Group recently signed a deal for a sixth Edge Class vessel for its Celebrity Cruises brand.
Set to be built by the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard, the ship will be a sister to the Celebrity Xcel and is expected to be delivered in 2028.
The company also received plans for its third Icon Class ship, which will enter service in 2026 as the Legend of the Seas.
Other recent orderbook updates that are reflected in Cruise Industry News’ report include additional details on Viking’s 2026 and 2027 newbuilds.
With nine ships ordered through 2030, the upscale company confirmed its plans to take delivery of the Viking Mira and the Viking Libra next year, with the Viking Astrea following suit in 2027.
Orient Express also confirmed dates and names for its two sailing yachts, while Four Seasons updated its delivery schedule.
