As MSC Cruises continues to adjust its itineraries for the 2027-28 winter, Cruise Industry News looks into the company’s current deployment plans for the season.
Canary Islands
MSC recently announced plans to expand its capacity in the Canary Islands in 2027-28 with the MSC Euribia debuting in the region.
The larger ship will take over the itineraries originally announced for the MSC Fantasia, which will now operate Euribia’s former deployment in the Western Mediterranean.
Sailing from four homeports in the Canaries, the Euribia will offer seven-night cruises that also call at Portugal’s Madeira Island.
Mediterranean and Northern Europe
The Canary Islands deployment will be complemented by an extensive winter season in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, seven of the company’s ships are scheduled to sail in the region in 2027-28.
While the MSC Preziosa offers itineraries in Northern Europe, the MSC World Europa, the MSC Seaview, the MSC Fantasia, the MSC Magnifica, the MSC Orchestra and the MSC Lirica will sail in the Mediterranean.
Caribbean from U.S. Homeports
The season in North America will be highlighted by the debut of the MSC World Atlantic, which will spend its inaugural season sailing from Port Canaveral.
Six ships will sail from U.S. homeports during the timeframe, including the MSC World America, the MSC Seashore, the MSC Seaside and the MSC Poesia from Miami.
The MSC Seascape will continue to operate from Galveston while the MSC Grandiosa will join the World Atlantic in Central Florida.
South America
MSC will deploy five ships in South America, including the MSC Meraviglia, which will make its debut in the region.
Originally scheduled to sail in the Southern Caribbean, the 2017-built vessel was redeployed after a series of changes related to the cancellation of the company’s Middle East season.
In addition to the MSC Meraviglia, the MSC Virtuosa, the MSC Divina, the MSC Splendida and the MSC Musica are also scheduled to sail to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay in 2027-28.
Southern Caribbean
The MSC World Asia will debut in the Southern Caribbean in 2027-28, taking over the itineraries from Martinique initially announced for the MSC Meraviglia.
Set to be delivered by Chantiers de l’Atlantique this November, the LNG-powered ship will join the MSC Opera, which will launch year-round service in the region in late 2026.
South Africa
While the MSC Armonia was originally scheduled to return to South Africa for a second consecutive season, the company’s website currently shows the MSC Sinfonia in the region.
The Lirica-class vessel will return to the region after a hiatus, offering cruises from Durban and Cape Town.
World Cruise, Asia, Middle East and MSC Armonia
In Asia, the MSC Bellissima will continue to offer year-round cruises in the Far East. During the 2027-28 winter, the vessel is scheduled to sail from Taiwan and Japan.
After sailing in the Mediterranean in late 2027, the MSC Magnifica will embark on a 115-night World Cruise in early 2028.
With all itineraries in the region cancelled earlier this year, the Middle East will not be part of MSC’s deployment. The company initially planned to offer cruises from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar during the season.
The oldest and smallest vessel in the company’s fleet, the MSC Armonia is currently not deployed for 2027-28. The 2001-built vessel’s published schedule includes a six-month gap that extends between October 2027 and March 2028.
