The former Costa Fortuna is already sailing as the Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber, according to AIS system data.

After completing its final sailing for Costa Cruises earlier this month, the 2003-built vessel is currently being prepared to launch service for Margaritaville at Sea.

The Destiny-class ship was renamed during a technical call in Brindisi, in Southern Italy, in mid-September.

In addition to gaining a new name, the vessel was also reflagged and is now sailing under the Portuguese flag.

The Beachcomber is currently sailing to the Port of Gibraltar, where it is scheduled to arrive on September 21, 2026.

The 2,720-passenger ship is then expected to sail to Northern Ireland for a major refurbishment, which will include various changes to its public areas and features.

As reported by Cruise Industry News, the project will be carried out in Belfast by the Harland & Wolff shipyard.

In addition to a new livery, the ship will introduce signature Margaritaville services and venues, including the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar, the JWB Steakhouse and the Cheeseburger in Paradise Burger Bar.

The Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber will kick off its maiden season in early 2027, offering a mix of itineraries from PortMiami.

With its inaugural cruise scheduled for January, the 103,000-ton ship will offer a series of three- to eight-night cruises to destinations in Florida, the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

Ports set to be visited include Cozumel in Mexico, Freeport in Grand Bahama and George Town in the Cayman Islands.

The vessel is then scheduled to reposition to Galveston in late 2027, marking Margaritaville at Sea’s Texas debut.

From its new homeport, the Beachcomber will offer new itineraries to the Western and Southern Caribbean, visiting Aruba, Curaçao, Belize and more.

Among the highlights of the ship’s deployment is a cruise that will feature a visit to Veracruz, one of the oldest cities in Mexico.
