Margaritaville at Sea has announced that the Beachcomber, its ship debuting in early 2027, will sail from Galveston starting later that year.

Before that, the Beachcomber will offer four- to eight-night itineraries from PortMiami to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean, as disclosed last September. Its inaugural cruise from PortMiami is scheduled for January 9, 2027.

It will then reposition to Galveston in October 2027 for a lineup of four- to seven-night itineraries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.

The ship will call at Aruba, Key West, Curaçao, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Belize, Progreso, Roatán, Cozumel, Grand Bahama Island and Bimini, as well as Veracruz, Mexico.

“Texas knows how to have a good time, so bringing Margaritaville at Sea to Galveston feels like a natural fit,” said Christopher Ivy, chief executive officer of Margaritaville at Sea.

“With Beachcomber, we’re giving guests an incredible ship and more choices for where their vacation can take them, including places they simply can’t reach on other cruises from Galveston. It’s a chance to see more, go farther and make every getaway a little different, all while experiencing the Margaritaville lifestyle at sea.”

The ship will also feature the Same Boat live music venue developed in collaboration with Zac Brown, which the brand said would also host a specially curated roster of musicians uniquely selected for the Texas market.

The Port of Galveston shared last month that Margaritaville at Sea would be its seventh cruise line starting in October 2027, without disclosing the name of the ship homeporting there.

The one-year deal comes with options to renew for two additional five-year terms, the Port stated at the time.

The 2,720-guest vessel was acquired from Costa Cruises as the Costa Fortuna and is set to be converted into the Beachcomber at the Harland & Wolff shipyard.
