Regent’s Explorer-Class Ships to Offer Largest Entry-Level Suites

  • August 13, 2026
Seven Seas Explorer

Regent’s Explorer-class ships will offer the largest entry-level suites in the ultra-luxury segment following their upcoming refits.

According to Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ website, the smaller staterooms onboard the Seven Seas Explorer, the Seven Seas Splendor and the Seven Seas Grandeur will range from 38 to 43 square meters (409 to 463 square feet).

The company said that the expanded suites will offer passengers “more room to relax, entertain and settle into life at sea.”

Replacing the existing smaller staterooms, the cabins will feature a new design, which, according to Regent, favors comfort and effortless living.

The Explorer-class ships will also have walk-in closets in every suite onboard, a feature Regent said sets a new standard of comfort.

The company noted that the wardrobes bring added convenience and functionality to the staterooms, making them ideal for longer journeys.

With the planned accommodation changes, Regent is cutting the passenger capacity of the trio of ships by nearly ten percent. Instead of the current 750 guests, the 54,000-ton vessels will carry 688 passengers.

On its website, the company noted that the reduction will improve the vessel’s guest-to-space and guest-to-crew ratios.

The Seven Seas Splendor will be the first ship to debut the reimagined suites, resuming service on December 6, 2027, following its refit.

The Seven Seas Explorer will follow on May 8, 2028, while the Seven Seas Grandeur will complete the project on November 13, 2028.

Introduced between 2016 and 2023, the Explorer-class ships were built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy.

With the 490-passenger Seven Seas Navigator set to be retired in late 2027, the Explorer-class ships will have the lowest guest capacity in Regent’s fleet.

Besides the larger Seven Seas Prestige, which is set to enter service later this year, Regent also operates the 720-passenger Seven Seas Mariner and the 700-guest Seven Seas Voyager.
