The Norwegian Sun arrived in Northern Europe earlier this month for a summer season offering itineraries to Scandinavia and the Baltic.

Repositioning from Asia, the ship reached the Port of Southampton following a 22-night cruise to Africa and the Canary Islands.

The voyage departed from Cape Town in South Africa and sailed to Namibia, Angola, Ghana, the Ivory Coast, Senegal, Spain and Portugal.

Featuring off-the-beaten-path destinations, the itinerary was highlighted by visits to Walvis Bay, Luanda, Takoradi, Abidjan and Dakar.

Before arriving in the United Kingdom, the Norwegian Sun also sailed to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Funchal and Vigo.

The 2002-built ship then offered a seven-night cruise to Copenhagen, which will serve as one of its homeports for the season.

The deployment includes a series of seven- to 10-night cruises that sail between the Danish port and Helsinki in Finland.

Itineraries include visits to destinations in the Baltic and Scandinavia, such as Oslo, Norway; Tallinn, Estonia; Riga, Latvia; Kiel, Germany; Klaipeda, Lithuania; and Gdynia, Poland.

The season runs through mid-October, when the Norwegian Sun is set to embark on a trans-Atlantic crossing to New York City.

Following a repositioning voyage to PortMiami, the vessel kicks off its final season in the Caribbean in early November.

The ship’s schedule for the season features 11- and 12-night cruises highlighted by partial transits of the Panama Canal, as well as ports of call in Central America.

The Norwegian Sun is scheduled to leave the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet in 2027, as part of a charter deal announced in 2025.

Upon completing a final summer season in Europe, the vessel is scheduled to be transferred to the India-based cruise line in September.

Joining the former Norwegian Sky, which is set to be transferred to the company later this year, the ship will be renamed Cordelia Sun for itineraries around India and Southeast Asia.
