Blue Dream Melody Sets Sail on 33-Night Cruise from China

The Blue Dream Melody in Shanghai

The Blue Dream Melody recently set sail from Shanghai, China, in late November for a 33-night voyage to Southeast Asia and Far East.

As the longest cruise ever offered by Blue Dream Cruises, the month-long itinerary includes visits to 17 ports of call in 10 countries and regions.

After departing from its homeport in China, the 1,270-guest ship made its way to destinations in Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand, including Sihanoukville, Da Nang and Port Klang.

Over the next few weeks, the vessel is scheduled to visit other ports of call in Brunei, Japan, The Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Cambodia, China and South Korea, such as Puerto Princesa, Naha and Xiamen.

The Blue Dream Melody is then scheduled to return to Shanghai to wrap up the cruise on December 29, 2024.

Continuing its operations in China, the ship is then set to embark on a New Year’s Eve cruise. The four-night itinerary features visits to Jeju, in South Korea, as well as Nagasaki, in Japan.

In addition to Shanghai, the 2022-built vessel is also set to offer cruises departing from Qingdao in 2025.

Acquired by Blue Dream Cruises in 2024, the Blue Dream Melody originally entered service for AIDA Cruises as the AIDAvita.

After a refurbishment at the Liuheng Shipyard, the ship kicked off its maiden season for the Chinese brand in June.

According to Blue Dream Cruises, the ship offers a product that focuses on community life and promotes Chinese culture and values.

In related news, Adora Cruises’ Mediterranea also embarked on a long cruise to Southeast Asia earlier this month.

Sailing from Xiamen to Guangzhou, the 13-night cruise sails to five destinations in the region, including Phu My, Singapore, Malacca, Kota Kinabalu and Manila.

According to Adora, the itinerary was created to allow guests to deeply experience the unique culture, customs and natural beauty of Southeast Asia.
