American Cruise Lines’ new American Liberty is setting sail on its maiden cruise today. Departing from Providence, the sold-out voyage is set to explore destinations in New England.
Before returning to the same port on Aug. 22, the coastal vessel is scheduled to visit New Bedford, Nantucket Island, Martha’s Vineyard, Block Island, Newport and Bristol.
Named “New England Islands,” the itinerary will continue to be offered by the American Liberty through the end of September.
Continuing its maiden season, the ship also offers seven-night fall foliage cruises on the Hudson River between late September and late October.
A sister to the American Eagle and the American Glory, the American Liberty is the third in American Cruise Lines’ Coastal Cats class.
The 109-guest vessel was designed to offer coastal cruising along the shores of the United States. After completing its maiden season in New England, the U.S.-flagged vessel is set to reposition to Florida and South Carolina.
During the 2024-25 winter, the American Liberty offers a series of seven-night cruises that sail between Amelia Island and Charleston.
Cruising through the Intracoastal Waterway, the itineraries feature visits to Beaufort, Hilton Head Island, Savannah, Jekyll Island and more.
Showcasing a new catamaran design, the American Liberty features four passenger decks, in addition to several amenities and public areas.
According to American Cruise Lines, the coastal vessel was designed with an elegant interior design, as well as spacious private balcony accommodations.
Other features include an expansive top deck for exterior views, lounges both inside and out, a main restaurant, a casual café and a fitness center.
Following the American Liberty, a fourth Coastal Cat vessel is set to enter service later this year. Named American Legend, the ship has its maiden cruise scheduled for November.
In 2025, American Cruise Lines is welcoming two more coastal ships to its fleet: the American Patriot and the American Pioneer.
