AIDA Cruises has signed a 10-year partnership with Central Romana Corporation for fly & cruise packages departing from and returning to La Romana in the Dominican Republic.
The deal was signed at an industry event in London by Anika Birkholz, member of the Executive Committee at AIDA Cruises, and Luis Emilio Rodríguez, La Romana Airport & Port Director of Central Romana Corporation, in the presence of Dominican Tourism Minister David Collado.
The partnership will focus on continuing the successful collaboration and strengthening La Romana as an important AIDA homeport in the Caribbean, the company said in a press release.
“The new agreement builds on many years of operational collaboration and creates a binding framework for cooperation over the next ten years,” noted Birkholz.
“Long-term planning allows both partners greater reliability in coordinating ship arrivals, passenger numbers, flight capacities, and the necessary processes. Above all, however, the agreement reflects our shared goal of consistently offering our guests a reliable and high-quality travel experience.”
AIDA said that the Caribbean has been a key winter destination in its travel program for many years, even during winter months.
In the 2026-27 winter season, three AIDA ships will visit La Romana regularly, starting with the arrival of the AIDAdiva on November 14, 2026.
The same number of ships will continue in the 2027-28 and 2028-29 winter seasons, with the itineraries for the former operated by the AIDAluna, AIDAprima and AIDAbella, and the latter by the AIDAprima, AIDAdiva and AIDAbella.
“This agreement is an important milestone in our long-standing collaboration with AIDA Cruises,” added Rodríguez.
“The mutual commitments create a strong foundation for further development and strengthen La Romana as a strategic cruise destination, homeport, and fly & cruise hub in the Caribbean. Together, we want to build on the integrated offering of the port and airport, further develop passenger and flight volumes, and create additional opportunities for La Romana and the Dominican Republic.”
