AIDA cruises has opened bookings for its 2028-29 winter season, sailing from October 2028 to April 2029.
The program ranges from new Caribbean routes to weeks-long trips roundtrip from Germany to Brazil and Mauritius, cruises to Southeast Asia and Australia and Canary Islands.
In a press release, the company said that cruises with the AIDAnova, AIDAperla and AIDAmar will be available for booking at a later date, noting that a world cruise is planned for the AIDAmar.
New Caribbean and Central America Itineraries
Three AIDA ships will be sailing in the Caribbean in the winter of 2028-29: the AIDAprima, AIDAdiva and AIDAbella.
In addition to La Romana, the company announced a new port of departure for the itineraries – Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
The AIDAbella will sail a 14-day “Caribbean and Central America” itinerary connecting Caribbean islands with destinations in Mexico and Central America, calling at Cozumel, Belize City, Roatán, Puerto Limón, Colón and Cartagena.
Other routes lead via Jamaica to the Cayman Islands and to the ABC islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao.
The AIDAdiva will offer 14-day itineraries to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia, among other places.
Cruises to the Lesser Antilles will visit destinations such as Dominica, Martinique, Barbados, Saint Lucia, Antigua, Sint Maarten and Tortola.
Different itineraries can be combined into 28-day cruises, allowing guests to explore several regions of the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America on one trip.
The cruises also start either in La Romana or Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
Sailings from Germany
The cruise line highlighted two “Great Winter Break” itineraries aboard the AIDAluna sailing roundtrip from Hamburg.
The first is the 27-day “Great Winter Break Canary Islands & Azores” itinerary, sailing from Kiel to Hamburg on November 5, 2028, and visiting Dover before calling at several Spanish ports, Agadir in Morocco, followed by Madeira and Azores, before heading back to Hamburg after visiting Dover and Skagen.
The second is the 50-day “Great Winter Break Brazil for Carnival,” sailing roundtrip from Hamburg on January 8, 2029, with guests spending three days in Rio de Janeiro during the Carnival and visit Maceió in eastern Brazil, which is a new port of call.
The AIDAsol is set to offer longer itineraries to Mauritius from Warnemünde, ranging from 41 to 55 days and calling at destinations in Africa including Walvis Bay, Kapstadt, Port Elizabeth, Maputo and others.
Special Trips: New Year’s Eve in Thailand or Madeira
Another highlight of the winter program are AIDAstella cruises in Southeast Asia.
A 14-day cruise departing on December 21 roundtrip from Singapore will take guests through Thailand and Malaysia, spending New Year’s Eve off Phuket.
Australia is also part of the 2028-29 winter program aboard the AIDAstella, with Exmouth on its west coast as a new port.
In Canary Islands, the AIDAcosma and AIDAluna will sail New Year’s Eve cruises, allowing guests to experience fireworks off Madeira.
Depending on the itinerary, the Canary Islands cruises include Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote as well as Madeira, Morocco and destinations along the Spanish Atlantic coast.
AIDAluna’s Norwegian Winter
The AIDAluna will offer cruises to Norway, lasting 12 days for the option departing on February 27 and 14 days departing March 11, 2029, roundtrip from Hamburg and going to Tromsø, Alta and Bodø and Trondheim, among other places.
