Explora Journeys’ Explora III arrived in Miami on October 25 to kick off a winter season in the region.
As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, the winter deployment will run through early April 2027 and include a series of cruises departing from Florida, Puerto Rico and Barbados.
Upon completion of its winter season, the 922-passenger ship sails to the West Coast to embark on Explora Journeys’ first cruise program in Alaska.
The ship’s inaugural Miami visit was marked with a ceremonial plaque exchange attended by PortMiami Director and CEO Jonathan Daniels, Chairman of MSC Cruises USA Rick Sasso, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) President and CEO Bud Darr, Consul General of Switzerland Rene Riedi and Captain Pietro Sinisi.
The 922-guest Explora III is Explora Journey’s third vessel.
After entering service this summer, the 72,810-ton vessel arrived in North America in late September, marking its debut in the region.
The cruise line will welcome its successor, the Explora IV in spring 2027, followed by the Explora V later that year and the Explora VI in summer 2028.
The company also marked two milestones at Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente shipyard in Genoa, Italy, yesterday, with the float out of the Explora V and the coin ceremony of the Explora VI.
