The new Explora III arrived in North America in late September, marking the debut of Explora Journeys’ newest ship in the region.
Having entered service earlier this year, the ship spent the past few months sailing in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe before crossing the Atlantic.
After arriving in the Canada and New England region, the Explora III is scheduled to visit a series of destinations, including Halifax, Charlottetown and Portland.
For its first cruise in the region, the 72,810-ton vessel offered an 11-night itinerary that sailed from Reykjavik to Quebec City.
Corner Brook, Saguenay, Havre Saint Pierre and Newport were among the ports of call included in the cruise.
Explora Journeys also offered the itinerary to North America as part of the “Grand Journey of Stunning Boreal Scenery and Northern Cultural Heritage” combination cruise.
Sailing between Hamburg and New York City, the 30-night voyage features visits to 20 destinations in a series of countries, including Germany, the United States, Ireland, England, Iceland and Canada.
The Explora III is now offering itineraries in Canada and New England ahead of repositioning to the Caribbean.
The ship is scheduled to arrive in PortMiami on October 25, 2026, to kick off a winter season in the region.
Running through early April 2027, the deployment includes a series of cruises departing from Florida, Puerto Rico and Barbados.
Upon completion of its winter season, the 922-passenger ship sails to the West Coast to embark on Explora Journeys’ first cruise program in Alaska.
The season will include itineraries departing from Vancouver and Seward between May and September 2027.
Delivered by the Fincantieri shipyard in July 2026, the Explora III became the third vessel in the fleet of the MSC-owned luxury brand.
The company will add three additional ships to its fleet through 2028, starting with the Explora IV in April 2027.
