Nicko Cruises has informed guests that a fuel surcharge of €10 per person per night will apply to all segments of the Vasco da Gama’s 193-day 2026-27 world cruise.

The company said affected guests will receive a revised invoice.. For guests sailing the entire cruise, the cost will be €1,930 per person.

An excerpt from Nicko Cruises‘ message to affected guests, as stated by Schiffe und Kreuzfahrten, said: “International fuel prices remain significantly above the level used in the original calculation … Recently, oil prices have risen significantly again due to developments.”

The company said it had been waiting for tensions in the Middle East to cease before communicating to guests at the beginning of April regarding a surcharge.

“The basic level unfortunately remained at a high level … Prices are therefore still significantly higher than prices before the beginning of March and also higher than prices at the time the program was created,” the company stated.

Nicko Cruises added that the applicable surcharge will be shown transparently on guests’ respective invoice/confirmation.

“We continue to monitor all price developments closely in cooperation with our partners and will pass on only what is necessary. Our goal is to continue providing with a reliable and high-quality travel experience despite the current circumstances,” the company added.

As previously reported, the 193-day voyage will depart from Hamburg, Germany, on November 3, 2026, and visit destinations around the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans before returning to the same port on May 5, 2027.
