German writer and TV presenter Hera Lind will join a leg of the Vasco da Gama’s world cruise in 2027, Nicko Cruises said in a press release.
As previously reported, the 193-day voyage will depart from Hamburg, Germany, on Nov. 3, 2026, and visit a wide range of destinations around the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans before returning to the same port on May 5, 2027.
The former classical singer, whose novels gained popularity in the 1990s, will host writing workshops and panel discussions during the 30-day portion of the journey from Papeete in Tahiti to Manila, the world cruise’s sixth route.
More than 22 million copies of Lind’s works have been sold, and numerous books have been filmed for cinema and television.
Lind had already joined the Vasco da Gama during previous cruises. Joining her onboard will be her husband, Engelbert Lainer-Wartenberg.
The 30-day journey starts on Jan. 22, 2027, in Papeete on Tahiti.
It will visit Bora Bora in French Polynesia, go further west to Apia, Samoa, followed by Fiji, Vanuatu, Rabaul in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Bohol in the Philippines, before ending in Manila on Feb. 20, 2027.
