The Ovation of the Seas recently arrived in the Port of Los Angeles for its winter season on the West Coast.

Having spent the past few months sailing in Alaska, the Royal Caribbean vessel is now scheduled to offer three- to eight-night cruises to Mexico from California.

Following a drydock earlier this year, the Ovation is debuting a series of new features on the West Coast, including an expanded Casino Royale.

As part of Royal Caribbean’s Royal Amplified refurbishment program, the 2016-built ship also introduced a new nightclub, as well as the company’s tropical-themed Pesky Parrot Bar.

Other new features include a series of additional dining venues, updated teen areas, and a new Suite Lounge. Approximately 40 new staterooms were also added to the vessel during the refit.

For its first sailing of the season from Los Angeles, the Quantum-class ship embarked on a three-night cruise to Ensenada.

The vessel’s deployment in the region features similar three-night cruises to Baja California, in addition to four- and five-night itineraries that also sail to Catalina Island and Cabo San Lucas.

Starting in December, the Ovation is scheduled to offer seven- and eight-night cruises that are highlighted by up to two overnight stays in Cabo San Lucas.

Staying on the West Coast for the upcoming summer season, the 4,202-passenger ship will continue to sail from Los Angeles through November 2027.

Before arriving in Los Angeles on September 22, 2026, the Ovation offered a repositioning voyage from Vancouver. With no ports of call, the three-night cruise included two days of cruising on the Pacific.

Through early October 2026, Royal Caribbean is also operating the Navigator of the Seas out of Los Angeles.

Repositioning to Singapore for a deployment in Southeast Asia, the vessel will be replaced by the Voyager of the Seas for the 2026-27 winter season.
