Astro Ocean Cruises confirmed that it has entered into an agreement with Global Cruiseline Ltd (GLCL), which will do business as Corazul Cruceros, to operate the Piano Land in Brazil.

According to a social media update shared over the weekend, the 1995-built vessel was renamed Buenavista for the operation.

The Chinese- company called the deal an “overseas strategic cooperation agreement,” noting it represents a new pathway for its global expansion plans.

The brand said that the former Piano Land will “participate in expanding the global operating footprint of Chinese cruise lines and steadily advance the internationalization” of the country’s cruise business.

Astro Ocean said that the deal is already in effect, noting that the Buenavista is scheduled to start its repositioning voyage to South America soon.

According to the company, plans currently call for the ship to offer its maiden cruise in Brazil on October 26, 2026.

Astro Ocean added that the operation builds upon its “deep roots in the Asian market” to increase capacity and optimize its network, participating in partnerships across domestic and international markets.

As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, Corazul Cruceros was launched in Spain earlier this year, using a unique booking system that does not include direct sales.

The company, which is based in Cyprus, initially planned to launch service in the Mediterranean for the Spanish market, but its inaugural season in the region was canceled a few months later.

Corazul then shifted its focus to South America, partnering with R11 Travel to launch a national cruise operation in Brazil ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The local tour operator, which also acts as Royal Caribbean’s sales partner in the region, opened bookings for the company’s maiden season in the country in May.

Sailing from Santos and Rio de Janeiro, the 69,000-ton vessel will offer a series of three- to seven-night cruises to destinations that include Salvador, Búzios, Balneário Camboriú, and Cabo Frio.

More recently, R11 Travel announced an expansion of Corazul’s deployment with additional sailings for the Brazilian market between late October and early April.

While Corazul previously said that operations in Europe and the Mediterranean were being considered for 2027, no further plans for the region were announced.

Speaking with Cruise Industry News earlier this month, COO Cammile Appeldoorn said that the Buenavista will be operated through a bareboat charter agreement.

He said that the ship is expected to be prepared to offer the company’s product while repositioning to Brazil.

BSM will act as the manager of the 1,806-passenger vessel, which originally entered service in 1995 for P&O Cruises as the Oriana.
