The new Legend of the Seas skipped planned visits to Naples for two consecutive cruises, according to guest reports on social media.

After entering service for Royal Caribbean in early July, the Icon-class ship is offering itineraries in the Western Mediterranean for its maiden season.

The first visit cancelled was part of the vessel’s July 25, 2026, cruise, which sailed between Civitavecchia and Barcelona.

The eight-night cruise originally featured visits to four destinations in Italy and Spain, including Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Naples and La Spezia.

According to guest reports obtained by Cruise Industry News, the visit to Naples was cancelled the night before it was scheduled to take place.

Instead of visiting the Italian port, the Legend of the Seas sailed to Marseille, adding the French port to its schedule.

A similar itinerary change took place during this week’s cruise, with the visit to Naples scheduled for August 7, 2026, cancelled. The call was also replaced with a visit to Marseille, which took place on the same day.

The calls were reportedly cancelled due to port restrictions, with Royal Caribbean mentioning a recent dock assessment by the Italian Port Authority.

The company noted that current conditions on a pier in Naples prevent the Legend from visiting the port as planned.

According to Royal Caribbean’s published schedule, the 5,610-passenger ship is scheduled to visit Naples weekly through the end of October.

As the third ship in the company’s Icon-class series, the Legend of the Seas kicked off its maiden season on July 4, 2026.

Sailing in Europe through late October, the 250,800-ton vessel is now offering a series of seven-night cruises to destinations in the Western Mediterranean.

The ship is scheduled to reposition to Florida in early November for winter cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas departing from Fort Lauderdale.
