The new Legend of the Seas embarked on its maiden voyage in the Western Mediterranean on July 4, 2026.

As the third ship in Royal Caribbean’s Icon-class series, the 250,800-ton vessel was delivered by the Meyer Turku shipyard in late June.

For its first cruise, the ship is offering a seven-night cruise to destinations in Italy, France and Spain after departing from Civitavecchia.

The itinerary features visits to La Spezia, Marseille, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, as well as two days of cruising in the Mediterranean.

Spending its maiden season in Europe, the Legend of the Seas is scheduled to offer weeklong cruises in the region through October.

In addition to Civitavecchia, which is located near Rome, passengers will also be able to board the Legend in Barcelona.

The deployment of the 5,610-guest ship is highlighted by visits to a range of ports of call, such as Naples in Italy and Malaga in Spain.

Upon the completion of its summer season in the Mediterranean, the Legend of the Seas offers a repositioning voyage to Fort Lauderdale.

For its North American debut, the vessel is set to offer six- to eight-night itineraries to destinations in the Southern, Eastern and Western Caribbean.

Sailing from Port Everglades, the LNG-powered ship will visit unique ports of call for Icon-class vessels, including Oranjestad in Aruba, Willemstad in Curaçao and Cabo Rojo in the Dominican Republic.

The cruises are also highlighted by visits to Royal Caribbean’s private island destinations of Labadee in Haiti and Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.

According to the company’s current deployment plans, the Legend is scheduled to offer a second summer season in Europe in 2027.

The cruise program in the Western Mediterranean will be followed by an addition winter season sailing from Fort Lauderdale in 2027-28.
