Celebrity Cruises recently issued a statement to inform guests of an increase in its discretionary onboard gratuities.

According to the letter, the changes are effective on July 29, 2026, and will see guests paying $19.50 per person per day when sailing in inside, oceanview and balcony cabins.

Gratuities for Concierge Class and AquaClass passengers were raised to $20.50 per person per day, while the charge for guests staying in The Retreat suites is now $24.50 per person per day.

With the increase, every guest sailing with the company will now pay an extra $1.50 per day, regardless of their stateroom type.

“These gratuities are thoughtfully shared among our dining, bar and culinary teams, stateroom attendants and the many crew members who help create the elevated experience you’ll enjoy onboard,” Celebrity said.

The company added that passengers are welcome to prepay these discretionary gratuities at the previous rates prior to their sailing.

“Otherwise, they will be conveniently applied to your onboard account daily at the new rate starting on July 29, 2026,” Celebrity added.

Celebrity Cruises currently operates a 15-ship fleet, including the Celebrity Xcel, which entered service for the company in late 2025.

The premium brand of the Royal Caribbean Group is set to welcome an additional vessel to its fleet in 2028 with the debut of the Celebrity Xcite.

Set to be constructed by the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France, the 140,600-ton vessel will become the latest in Celebrity’s Edge class.

First introduced in 2018, the series currently includes five sister ships with capacities ranging from 2,900 to 3,260 passengers.

The company is also preparing to enter the river cruising market by introducing its first riverboats in European rivers.

Twenty vessels are currently being built as part of the project, with the first set to cruise the Rhine and Danube Rivers starting in August 2027.
