Norwegian Aqua Completes First of Service

The Norwegian Aqua recently completed its first year of service after being delivered by the Fincantieri shipyard on March 13, 2025.

As the third ship in Norwegian Cruise Line’s Prima-class series, the 3,571-passenger ship welcomed its first passengers in Europe a few weeks later.

Before arriving in PortMiami for its christening ceremony, the Aqua offered a trans-Atlantic crossing that sailed from Italy to New York City.

The ship then kicked off inaugural festivities ahead of being named at Norwegian’s Cruise Terminal in Miami on April 13, 2025.

Actor Eric Stonestreet served as the godfather of the vessel for the ceremony, which also included a concert experience honoring Prince.

The Norwegian Aqua then sailed to Port Canaveral for a series of week-long cruises to the Eastern Caribbean.

The ship’s initial itineraries in the region included visits to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.

All sailings also featured a visit to Norwegian’s private island destination of Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.

In August, the 156,300-ton ship repositioned to New York City for a summer season sailing to Bermuda and the U.S. East Coast.

Following winter cruises from Miami, the vessel recently returned to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal for a second season.

Through September 2026, the Aqua offers five- to eight-night cruises that feature multi-day visits to King’s Wharf and the Royal Naval Dockyard.

For the 2026-27 winter season, the vessel is scheduled to return to South Florida for additional sailings out of PortMiami.

Joining its sister ship, the new Norwegian Luna, the vessel offers a new series of seven-night cruises to the Eastern Caribbean, visiting Puerto Plata, St. Thomas and Tortola.

The year 2027 will see the Aqua returning to Port Canaveral for year-round operations starting in late April.
