The new Viking Mira is set to kick off its inaugural season in early June after being delivered to Viking recently.
Cruise Industry News takes a closer look at the inaugural deployment of the new 998-passenger vessel, which is the 13th in a series that started with the Viking Star in 2015.
Inaugural Cruise in the Mediterranean

The Viking Mira is scheduled to kick off its maiden season with a seven-night cruise to the Western Mediterranean sailing from Civitavecchia.
After departing from the port near Rome, the new vessel sails to destinations in Italy and France, including Livorno, where it is set to spend two days docked for tours to Tuscany. The cruise is also highlighted by stops in Cannes, Marseille and Sète.
Repositioning to Northern Europe

Itinerary: Valencia, Málaga and La Coruña (Spain); Lisbon and Porto (Portugal); Dublin (Ireland); and Liverpool (England)
Soon after debuting in the Mediterranean, the Viking Mira is scheduled to reposition to Northern Europe as part of a cruise that sails from Barcelona to Iceland.
Before ending with an overnight visit to Reykjavik, the 14-night cruise also sails to a range of destinations in Western Europe, including Porto in Portugal and La Coruña in Spain. The 998-passenger ship will visit the British Isles as well, with calls to Liverpool and Dublin.
Into the Midnight Sun

The Viking Mira is also set to offer Viking’s “Into the Midnight Sun” itinerary, with two departures scheduled for July.
Sailing between Greenwich and Bergen, the 14-night cruise features visits to a range of destinations in the British Isles and Norway, such as Edinburg, Tromsø and Gravdal. Other highlights of the itinerary include a visit to Honningsvåg, which allows guests to visit Nordkapp, the northernmost point of the continent of Europe.
Viking Shores & Fjords

Itinerary: Ulvik, Stavanger, Kristiansand and Oslo (Norway); and Aalborg (Denmark)
Continuing its season in Northern Europe, the new ship will offer the “Viking Shores & Fjords” itinerary, which features visits to destinations in Scandinavia and the North Sea.
Sailing from Bergen to Amsterdam, the open-jaw cruise will make calls to Ulvik, Stavanger, Kristiansand and Oslo in Norway, in addition to the Danish port of Aalborg. A similar itinerary will be offered on August 12, 2026, sailing in the reverse direction.
