The World Odyssey is currently undergoing a drydock ahead of kicking off its farewell season for Phoenix Reisen.

Following the completion of its spring world cruise for Semester at Sea, the 1998-built vessel arrived at a shipyard in Germany in mid-April.

Preparations include a change of livery, as well as the renaming of the vessel, which sails for Phoenix Reisen as the Deutschland.

Sailing for the German tour operator, the 520-passenger ship is scheduled to offer a series of eight cruises departing from Bremerhaven, Cuxhaven and Kiel.

The eight- to 22-night itineraries visit a range of destinations in Northern Europe, including the Baltic, Iceland and the British Isles.

For the first sailing of the season, the Deutschland is scheduled to sail from Bremerhaven on May 12, 2026, for a cruise to the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The 16-night itinerary features visits to 13 destinations, such as Edinburgh, Belfast, Douglas, Portland and Dover.

Other highlights of the season include a 22-night cruise to the Portuguese archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira.

In addition to Ponta Delgada, the itinerary includes stops in Praia da Vitória and Velas, as well as overnight visits to Horta and Funchal.

Sailing roundtrip from Cuxhaven, the cruise will also make visits to ports in Northern Europe and Great Britain, including Glengariff and Honfleur.

Ahead of another winter season sailing from Semester at Sea, the Deutschland is scheduled to end its farewell season for Phoenix Reisen in early September.

Operating summer seasons for the company since 2015, the 22,400-ton ship was originally built for Peter Deilmann.
