Cruise Industry News looks into some of the key drydock projects that are happening around the world in April.

Harmony of the Seas

Tonnage: 227,625
Year built: 2016
Drydock Period: Apr. 3 to May 21, 2026
Shipyard: Navantia (Cádiz, Spain)

The Harmony of the Seas is currently undergoing a major refurbishment in Spain as part of the Royal Amplification program.

Before welcoming guests back in late May, the 2016-built ship is set to undergo a modernization project that includes the addition of new features, as well as updates to public areas and technical equipment.

Highlights of the project include the expansion of the vessel’s casino, as well as the addition of nearly 100 staterooms.

MSC Seashore
Cruise Line: MSC Cruises
Capacity: 4,560 guests
Tonnage: 169,380
Year built: 2021
Drydock Period: Apr. 1 to Apr. 19, 2026
Shipyard: Grand Bahama (Freeport, the Bahamas)

The MSC Seashore recently resumed service after undergoing a three-week drydock at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport. It was the first drydock of the 2021-built ship.

As part of its first drydock, the 2021-built ship underwent technical work, including class inspections and overhauls.

Updates to public areas and staterooms were also carried out during the shipyard stay, which ended on April 19, 2026.

Carnival Magic
Cruise Line: Carnival Cruise Line
Capacity: 3,650 guests
Tonnage: 130,000
Year built: 2011
Drydock Period: Apr. 18 to May 26, 2026
Shipyard: Grand Bahama (Freeport, the Bahamas)

The Carnival Magic is currently undergoing a scheduled drydock at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport.

The Dream-class ship is set to welcome guests back in late May to resume its regular schedule of cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas departing from PortMiami.

Vasco da Gama
Cruise Line: Nicko Cruises

Tonnage: 55,819
Year built: 1994

After cutting its world cruise short and canceling a sailing due to a technical issue, the Vasco da Gama arrived at Damen in Brest, France, for repairs.

The Nicko Cruises vessel is reportedly facing a problem with its propulsion system, which is limiting its operational speed.

With the problem solved, the 1994-built ship is scheduled to welcome guests back on May 9, 2026, kicking off its summer season in Northern Europe.

Norwegian Jade
Cruise Line: Norwegian Cruise Line
Capacity: 2,400 guests
Tonnage: 93,000
Year built: 2006
Drydock Period: Apr. 19 to May 4, 2026

The Norwegian Jade is currently undergoing a drydock at the Esquimalt Graving Dock in Victoria, Canada.

Before kicking off its summer season in Alaska in early May, the 2,400-passenger vessel is expected to undergo technical work, including routine maintenance and class inspections.

Part of Norwegian’s Jewel-class, the 2006-built ship is also projected to get minor upgrades to its public areas and staterooms.
