Royal Caribbean’s Mariner Resumes Service After Drydock

  • March 20, 2026
Mariner of the Seas

The Mariner of the Seas recently returned to service for Royal Caribbean International after spending nearly a month in drydock at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport.

Resuming its regular schedule in Galveston, the 2003-built vessel welcomed guests back onboard on March 17, 2026. as the ship kicked off a four-night cruise to the Western Caribbean that featured a visit to Cozumel, as well as two days at sea.

The Mariner will continue to offer similar short cruises from Texas over the next few months. In addition to Cozumel, the four- and five-night itineraries also feature visits to Costa Maya.

The vessel’s schedule also includes a unique ten-night cruise to the Western Caribbean that is set to depart from Galveston on March 31, 2026.

Sailing to Jamaica, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Belize and Honduras, the itinerary is set to visit Falmouth, Cozumel, George Town, Belize City and Roatán.

In November, the Voyager-class ship will reposition to New Orleans for weeklong cruises to the Western Caribbean.

From Louisiana, the 3,138-passenger vessel will visit ports in Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and Belize, including Cozumel, George Town, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios.

Ending a years-long hiatus, the Mariner is also set to return to Europe next year for itineraries out of Southampton.

Extending between May and October, the vessel’s summer season in the region features cruises to a range of destinations, including Scandinavia, Western Europe and the North Sea.

In related news, the Ovation of the Seas recently entered drydock in Singapore to undergo a major refurbishment project.

As part of Royal Caribbean’s Royal Amplified program, the 2016-built ship is set to debut new features, including a revamped pool deck and the Pesky Parrot tiki bar.

The Quantum-class vessel will also introduce new dining venues, such as Izumi Teppanyaki, while increasing its capacity with the addition of 40 extra staterooms.
