Key March Drydocks

Cruise Industry News looks into some of the key drydock projects that are taking place in March.

Azamara Journey
Cruise Line: Azamara
Capacity: 718 guests
Tonnage: 30,200
Year built: 2000
Drydock Period: Mar. 1 to Mar. 9, 2026
Shipyard: Cernaval (Algeciras, Spain)

The Azamara Journey underwent a quick drydock at a shipyard at the port of Algeciras, Spain, earlier this month.

Part of the ship’s routine maintenance schedule, the eight-day shipyard stay was successfully completed on March 9, 2026.

The 2000-built ship is now offering a series of spring cruises to the Canary Islands, Morocco and the Western Mediterranean.

Carnival Dream
Cruise Line: Carnival Cruise Line
Capacity: 3,650 guests
Tonnage: 130,000
Year built: 2009
Drydock Period: Mar. 4 to Mar. 21, 2026
Shipyard: Chantier Naval de Marseille (Marseille, France)

The Carnival Dream recently underwent a routine drydock at the Chantier Naval de Marseille in France.

After pausing its operations in the Caribbean in late February, the 2009-built ship spent 14 days at the shipyard undergoing technical work and scheduled maintenance.

Wind Star
Cruise Line: Windstar Cruises
Capacity: 148 guests
Tonnage: 5,703
Year built: 1986
Drydock Period: Mar. 9 to Apr. 7, 2026
Shipyard: Navantia (Cadiz, Spain)

The Wind Star is presently in drydock at the Navantia Shipyard for Phase 2 of Windstar’s Setting Sail initiative.

As part of the refit program, the 148-guest ship is getting redesigned public areas, in addition to reimagined suites and staterooms.

The refurbishment will be ready for the vessel’s summer season in Europe, which is set to start on April 7, 2026.

Koningsdam
Cruise Line: Holland America Line
Capacity: 2,660 guests
Tonnage: 99,500
Year built: 2016
Drydock Period: Mar. 15 to Mar. 29, 2026
Shipyard: Grand Bahama Shipyard (Freeport, the Bahamas)

The Koningsdam is undergoing a routine drydock at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport, the Bahamas.

As part of its maintenance schedule, the 99,500-ton vessel is undergoing technical overhauls, as well as class inspections and overall upkeep work.

Before joining Holland America’s lineup for the summer season in Alaska, the ship is set to resume service in the Caribbean in late March.

Ovation of the Seas
Cruise Line: Royal Caribbean International
Capacity: 4,204 guests
Tonnage: 158,700
Year built: 2016
Drydock Period: Mar. 16 to Apr. 17, 2026
Shipyard: Seatrium Admiralty Shipyard (Singapore)

The Ovation of the Seas recently entered drydock to undergo a major refurbishment as part of Royal Caribbean’s Royal Amplified program.

During the month-long refurbishment, the Quantum-class ship is set to introduce new features and additional cabins, as well as refreshed public areas.

Celebrating its 10th year of service in 2026, the 158,700-ton vessel is scheduled to welcome guests back in Singapore on April 17, 2026.
