The MSC Seascape arrived in Galveston to kick off MSC Cruises’ first homeporting operation in Texas.

Repositioning from Miami, the 2022-built vessel is now set to operate a year-round schedule departing from the port’s new cruise terminal at Pier 16.

Starting on Nov. 9, the Seaside-class ship is set to offer a series of seven-night cruises to the Western Caribbean.

Departing from Galveston every Sunday, the vessel’s weeklong itineraries feature visits to destinations in Mexico and Honduras, including Costa Maya, Cozumel and Roatán.

According to MSC, the itineraries departing from Texas onboard the MSC Seascape will be highlighted by expanded food and beverage choices, which will include Southern, Texan and Gulf Coast flavors.

As part of the additional offerings, menus will feature barbecue-forward dishes, Cajun-spiced cuisine and Southern-style comfort foods.

The onboard drink selection will also offer a nod to Texas favorites with bars and lounges featuring an added selection of Texan and Southern-inspired drinks.

The ship’s entertainment lineup will also offer uniquely Texan experiences, including The Lone Star resident country music band, a Dueling Pianos experience and more.

According to published deployment, the MSC Seascape is scheduled to continue sailing from Galveston through at least October 2027.

With the Seascape now sailing from Galveston, MSC expands its presence to four homeports in the United States.

In addition to the Texas port, the company also offers itineraries from PortMiami, Port Canaveral and New York City.

For the 2025-26 winter season, MSC will operate the World America, the Divina and the Seaside out of Miami, the Seashore and the Grandiosa from Port Canaveral and the Meraviglia from New York City.

In the summer of 2026, the company is also debuting in Seattle with the MSC Poesia, which will operate the company’s first season in Alaska.
