Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas to Offer Additional Showcase Sailing

Star of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International is pushing forward the maiden season of the new Star of the Seas with the addition of a new showcase sailing.

Initially set to enter service 11 days later, the new Icon-class ship will now welcome its first paying guests on Aug. 20, 2025.

“Since we simply cannot wait to show off the next icon of vacations, we have now added one extra showcase sailing to kick off the celebrations for our inaugural season,” the company said in a statement sent to guests.

As part of the newly added sailing, the Star of the Seas will depart from Port Canaveral for a three-night cruise to the Bahamas.

The cruise will feature a visit to the company’s private island destination of Perfect Day at CocoCay.

It’s the second time that Royal Caribbean has pushed forward the service launch of the ship, which is currently being built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.

Previously, in January, the company had added two new showcase sailings to the vessel’s schedule.

The new cruises will depart from Port Canaveral on Aug. 23 and Aug. 27, 2025, and also sail to the Bahamas.

Both the three- and the four-night sailings include a visit to Perfect Day at CocoCay, in addition to days at sea.

Star’s official maiden cruise is still set to take place as scheduled on Aug. 31, 2025. On that day, the vessel will sail from its homeport for a seven-night cruise to the Western Caribbean.

The itinerary features a new stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, as well as visits to destinations in Mexico and Honduras, including Cozumel, Costa Maya and Roatán.

During its inaugural season, the Star of the Seas is also set to offer itineraries to the Eastern Caribbean that sail to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, San Juan, St. Kitts and more.
