Octantis Sets Sail on Viking’s Longitudinal World Cruise

Viking Octantis in Milwaukee

The Viking Octantis recently kicked off the fifth edition of Viking’s Longitudinal World Cruise.

Sailing from Ushuaia, the 68-night repositioning voyage sails to Milwaukee and features visits to destinations in South America, the Caribbean and North America.

According to Viking, the itinerary offers a unique way to discover the Americas’ coastlines with visits to 11 countries.

Before transiting the Panama Canal, the 378-guest ship is also set to visit various destinations in Argentina, the Falkland Islands, Chile, Peru and Ecuador.

The Longitudinal World Cruise continues with ports of call in the Caribbean and Florida, including Cozumel and Fort Lauderdale.

After visits to Charleston and Norfolk, the vessel sails to Nova Scotia and Quebec before entering the St. Lawrence Seaway.

The cruise then ends in Milwaukee on April 29, 2025, following visits to additional ports in Canada and the Great Lakes, such as Trois-Rivieres, Point Pelee, Detroit and Alpena.

According to Viking, guests will also have an opportunity to visit the Niagara Falls during the ship’s visit to Port Colborne.

Upon completing its world cruise, the Viking Octantis kicks off a series of spring and summer cruises in the Greak Lakes.

In July, the 30,000-ton vessel is set to embark on a repositioning voyage to Nuuk for Viking’s first-ever season in the Arctic.

The deployment includes a series of 13- to 27-day expeditions to remote parts of Greenland and northern Canada.

The Viking Octantis then offers a new Longitudinal World Cruise in early September, ahead of its 2025-26 winter season in Antarctica.

Designed for operations in remote and polar regions, the Viking Octantis became the first expedition ship to join the Viking fleet in late 2021.
