Majestic Princess Returns to Europe After Eight Years

Majestic Princess

Built in Italy by the Fincantieri shipyard, the Majestic Princess returned to Europe earlier this month following an eight-year gap.

After spending its inaugural season in the Mediterranean in 2017, the Princess Cruises ship has since been sailing in destinations elsewhere.

Following a summer program in Alaska in 2024, the Majestic Princess explored a wider range of regions during the 2024-25 winter, including South America and the Caribbean.

Upon completing its schedule of cruises, the vessel embarked on a trans-Atlantic crossing to Spain on Feb. 18, 2025.

Sailing from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona, the 14-night cruise featured visits to destinations in Portugal, as well as additional ports of call in Spain, including Funchal, Cádiz and Málaga.

After an initial seven-night cruise in the Western Mediterranean, the vessel entered drydock for routine maintenance in mid-March.

The Majestic Princess is now scheduled to offer a series of seven- to 33-night cruises that sail to both the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.

The deployment is highlighted by Princess’ “Grand Mediterranean” itinerary, which sails to destinations in Italy, Greece, Turkey and Spain over the course of ten nights.

Ports of call featured in the cruise include Naples, Palermo, Chania, Piraeus, Kusadasi and Palma de Mallorca.

The ship is also scheduled to offer itineraries in the Eastern Mediterranean, such as a ten-night cruise to the Adriatic Sea.

Sailing from Trieste to Piraeus, the ten-night voyage features visits to destinations in Croatia, Greece, Italy and Turkey, such as Dubrovnik, Santorini and Istanbul.

In July, the 3,600-guest ship sails to Northern Europe and Iceland before returning to North America for a fall foliage season in Canada and New England.

For its repositioning voyage, the Majestic Princess offers a 15-night cruise that sails between Southampton and Boston.

The trans-Atlantic itinerary features visits to three destinations in Iceland, such as Reykjavik and Isafjord, before arriving in Canada for stops in Charlottetown, Sydney and Halifax.
