The Diamond Princess is returning to Japan and the Far East after completing a winter program in Australia.
As part of a 22-night repositioning journey, the Princess Cruises ship sailed from Sydney on February 21, 2025.
Before arriving in Yokohama in mid-March, the 2,600-guest vessel is now set to visit eight destinations in Southeast Asia and the Far East.
The itinerary includes ports of call in Papua New Guinea, such as Alotau and Conflict Island, as well as Manila in the Philippines.
The Diamond Princess then sails to Hong Kong and Keelung before arriving in Japan for visits to Kagoshima, Kobe and Shimizu.
Upon arriving in Yokohama, the ship kicks off a summer program in Asia that includes a series of cruises to Japan.
The deployment features nine- to 22-night itineraries focusing on different parts of the country, including a nine-night cruise to the Southern Islands that sails to Naha and Ishigaki, as well as Keelung in Taiwan.
The Diamond Princess is scheduled to explore Hokkaido during an itinerary to Aomori, Hakodate, Otaru and Kagoshima.
Before returning to Yokohama, the 10-night voyage also includes a visit to Seogwipo-si, a less usual cruise port in South Korea.
The ship is also offering a special 10-night cruise during Golden Week, which sails from Yokohama to Kagoshima, Naha, Keelung and Kaohsiung.
In November, the Diamond Princess is scheduled to reposition to Southeast Asia for a series of itineraries departing from Singapore.
The schedule features 10- to 16-night itineraries visiting destinations in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam, such as Phuket, Penang and Ho Chi Minh City.
The ship then returns to Japan in late February for another extended summer season in the region that features departures from Yokohama.
Built at the Mitsubishi shipyard in Nagasaki, Japan, the Diamond Princess originally entered service in 2004.
