Adora Cruises announced plans to deploy the Adora Mediterranea on a series of cruises departing from the Chinese port of Dalian starting in May.
According to a press release, the new deployment is part of a strategic partnership with Dalian’s Culture and Tourism Bureau that aims to promote the regional cruise industry and help develop the portinto a key homeport for the cruise business.
The Adora Mediterranea is scheduled to kick off its operations in Dalian on May 27, 2025, with a series of three cruises to international destinations in Japan and South Korea.
The four-night itineraries feature visits to destinations that include Fukuoka, Sasebo and Jeju, Adora said.
“Dalian, as an important port city in Northeast Asia, offers excellent conditions for our deployment with its superior deep-water port advantages, homeport infrastructure and the government’s proactive planning for cruise economy development,” the company stated.
“In the future, we will continue to work closely with the Dalian government and local partners to deepen the ‘cruise + culture’ innovative model, promoting the high-quality development of the cruise economy in Dalian and the Northeast region, and helping Dalian become a strategic hub for cruise tourism in Northeast Asia,” Adora added.
The company also signed a cooperation agreement with Dalian’s Culture and Tourism Bureau, which will see joint work in areas such as cruise culture promotion, the development of unique cruise routes and market expansion.
The company said that it signed agreements with multiple travel agency representatives to further broaden its sales channels.
Adora Cruises currently operates a two-ship fleet that, other than the Adora Mediterranean, includes the Adora Magic City.
Built in Shanghai, the 5,246-guest ship entered service in early 2024 as the first ever large cruise ship built in China.
