The Pacific Explorer set sail from Fremantle on Friday to kick off its final voyage for P&O Cruises Australia.

Sailing to Singapore, the 1997-built ship is now offering an 11-night repositioning cruise that features destinations in Indonesia and Malaysia.

In addition to spending eight days at sea, the Pacific Explorer is set to visit Lombok and Langkawi as part of the itinerary.

After being sold to Resorts World Cruises in late 2024, the ship is scheduled to be delivered to its new owners after arriving in Singapore.

Originally built for Princess Cruises in the late 1990s, the Pacific Explorer is wrapping up an eight-year stint with P&O Cruises Australia.

After a major refurbishment, the then Dawn Princess was transferred to the Australian brand in early 2017.

In addition to Fremantle, the 2,000-guest ship sailed from various homeports in Australia and New Zealand, including Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland and Brisbane.

Now set to start a new phase of its sailing career, the vessel will be renamed Star Voyager before kicking off a series of cruises in Southeast Asia.

Following a $50 million update, the ship kicks off its maiden season for Resorts World Cruises in Singapore on Mar. 26, 2025.

As part of its inaugural season for the company, the Voyager is scheduled to offer three- to five-night cruises to Jakarta, Melaka, Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City.

With departures extending through late July, the itineraries will allow guests to also embark at most of the ports of call.

As part of Princess’ Sun Class, the Star Voyager joins three of its former fleet mates in Asia: the Dream and the Pacific Explorer.

Originally built as the Sun Princess in 1995, the latter is presently offering cruises from Japan for the Peace Boat Organization.

Now operating in the Chinese market for Tianjin Orient International Cruise Line, the Dream first debuted as the Sea Princess in 1998.
