February will see major cruise refurbishment projects, with vessels spending up to seven weeks in drydock.

AIDAdiva

The AIDAdiva recently arrived at the Chantier Naval de Marseille shipyard to begin its AIDA Evolution transformation.
As part of the seven-week drydock, the 2007-built vessel will get refreshed public areas and staterooms, as well as new dining venues, lounges and more suites.
Before embarking on AIDA’s 2025-26 world cruise later this year, the AIDAdiva resumes service on Mar. 23, kicking off a spring season in the Western Mediterranean.
Carnival Spirit

After completing a homeporting season in Alabama, the Carnival Spirit is currently sailing to Marseille, where it is set to enter drydock later this month.
The 2001-built ship is scheduled to undergo routine maintenance and class work during the shipyard stay, in addition to minor updates to public areas and staterooms.
The Spirit welcomes guests back in mid-March, starting a series of repositioning voyages ahead of its summer deployment in Alaska.
Norwegian Breakaway

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Breakaway is set to undergo a major refurbishment project in Europe later this month.
Similar to the work recently carried out on the Norwegian Bliss, the refit includes the addition of new venues, such as the Horizon Park and the Silver Screen Bistro, as well as routine maintenance and other refreshments.
The 2013-built ship is scheduled to resume service in mid-April, ahead of a summer program in the Mediterranean.
Renaissance

Drydock Period: Jan. 18 to Mar. 1, 2025
Shipyard: Lloyd Werft (Bremerhaven, Germany)
The Renaissance is currently undergoing a big update at the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven, Germany.
After arriving at the facility earlier this year, the 1993-built ship is scheduled to spend six weeks in drydock to get a new exhaust gas cleaning system, as well as a new coat of paint and a shore power connection.
Recently involved in CFC’s merger with Ambassador, the Renaissance is scheduled to welcome guests back in France in early March.
Celestyal Journey

After pausing Celestyal’s first-ever season in the Arabian Gulf, the Celestyal Journey entered a drydock in Dubai in mid-January.
According to the company, the 1,258-guest ship is undergoing a planned refit that will enhance its onboard spaces. The Journey is also getting a new livery to match its fleet mate, the Celestyal Discovery.
The Celestyal Journey resumes its winter deployment in the Middle East on Feb. 15, offering seven-night cruises from Doha or Dubai.
