Aroya to Debut in the Mediterranean in June

Aroya

After entering service in the Red Sea in late 2024, Aroya Cruises is expanding its itineraries to the Eastern Mediterranean this year.

According to published deployment on its website, the Saudi company is scheduled to kick off a summer program in Europe in late June.

Repositioning from Jeddah, the Aroya arrives in Istanbul for a series of seven-night cruises to Greece and Turkey.

Running through mid-September, the deployment shows12 sailings in the region, as well as two repositioning voyages.

Ports of call set to be visited by the 3,400-guest ship include Mykonos, Chania, Piraeus, Rhodes, Kusadasi and Antalya.

After completing its season in the region, the Aroya is scheduled to return to the Red Sea in late September via a repositioning voyage to Jeddah.

In addition to destinations in Turkey, the 12-night cruise also includes visits to Port Suez and Sharm El Sheikh.

Acquired by Cruise Saudi in March 2023, the Aroya was originally built for Genting Hong Kong’s Dream Cruises brand.

Before entering service for Aroya Cruises, the former World Dream underwent a major refurbishment in Europe.

As part of the project, the ship was prepared to offer a Saudi experience with new dining venues, lounges and experiences.

One of the new features that debuted ahead of the maiden voyage is a souq-inspired shopping district that is said to be the largest retail area at sea, covering 1,585 square meters.

Upon entering service last December, the Aroya kicked off a series of one- to seven-night cruises in the Red Sea.

Sailing from Jeddah, the itineraries feature visits to destinations in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt, including Aqaba, Port Sokhna and Jabal Al-Sabaya Island.

According to Aroya’s website, the company also plans to offer itineraries to the Arabian Gulf in the future, with itineraries sailings to ports in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and more.
