The World Odyssey recently sailed from Bangkok, Thailand, for Semester at Sea’s 2025 Spring World Voyage.
Sailing to Bremerhaven, the 106-day cruise is set to visit ten countries and 11 destinations on three continents.
After embarking on Jan. 5, passengers will visit ports of call Asia, Africa and Europe, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Kochi, Mombasa, Casablanca and La Coruña.
Before arriving at the German port city, the World Odyssey is also scheduled to sail to Penang, Cape Town, Tema and Takoradi.
According to Semester at Sea, the itinerary allows guests to experience a wide range of cultures and histories while visiting urban centers, rural villages and more.
As part of the company’s educational cruising proposal, the cruise is said to be enhanced by a robust academic program led by a team of academic experts from institutions from around the world.
The product allows guests to form a community onboard while learning about over 20 fields of study, the company said.
In addition to deepening their understanding of the world, students are able to earn 12 to 15 credits from Colorado State University while onboard.
Upon returning to Europe next April, the World Odyssey is scheduled to offer a summer cruise program for Germany-based Phoenix Reisen.
Renamed the Deutschland, the 1998-built vessel offers seven- to 16-night itineraries to Northern Europe and the Mediterranean.
The 520-guest ship is then scheduled to return to Semester at Sea for new world voyages during the 2025-26 winter season.
Two sailings are scheduled, including a 105-day itinerary from the Netherlands in September 2025 and a 106-day voyage from Thailand in January 2026.
The two cruises are set to make nearly 25 visits to destinations across the world, featuring ports of call in Asia, Africa, Europe and more.
