The MSC Sinfonia recently kicked off its winter deployment in the Eastern Mediterranean for MSC Cruises.
New for the 2024-25 season, the schedule includes a series of seven-night cruises to destinations in Greece, Italy and Turkey.
Guests will be able to board the ship in Piraeus, Bari and Istanbul for a the itinerary that also features visits to Izmir and Corfu.
Part of the MSC Sinfonia’s year-round deployment in the region, the cruises will be offered through late April.
Starting in early May, the ship is scheduled to operate a different itinerary in the Eastern Mediterranean that sails to Greece and Italy.
Set to be offered during the 2025 summer season, the seven-night itinerary focuses on the Greek Isles, sailing from Bari to Santorini, Katakolon, Argostoli and Corfu, as well as Piraeus.
Between July and October, the MSC Sinfonia is also scheduled to make occasional visits to, Syros.
Currently one of the smallest vessels in MSC Cruises’ fleet, the 2002-built vessel is set to remain sailing in the Eastern Mediterranean through at least May 2026.
After having its schedule cancelled due to the geopolitical situation in Israel, the MSC Sinfonia spent the 2023-24 winter in layup.
At the time, MSC Cruises said that that the winter program was no longer going ahead as the highlight in the ship’s itinerary was a visit to Haifa.
While out of service, the Sinfonia underwent a drydock at the Palumbo Shipyard in the port of Valletta, Malta.
The routine work included technical overhauls, class inspections, as well as general maintenance and upkeep of hotel areas.
Previously, in 2015, the 65,000-ton vessel underwent a major modernization project that included the addition of a new 25-meter section to its hull, as well as the creation of additional cabins and new features onboard.
