Amera Sets Sail on 103-Night Cruise to the Americas

Phoenix Reisen’s Amera recently sailed from the German port of Bremerhaven for a 103-night cruise to the Americas.

According to the company, the itinerary is scheduled to visit 52 ports and features destinations in North America, the Caribbean and South America.

In addition to visiting 15 islands, the cruise is also set to cross the Panama Canal and the Equator while visiting ports of call in Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, the United States and more.

Port highlights include Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Miami and New York City.

In addition is a wide range of excursion options, the company added, which were designed to bring guests closer to destinations and their people.

After departing from Germany, the Amera is scheduled to sail to destinations in Spain and Portugal before crossing the Atlantic on its way to the Caribbean.

Ahead of visiting several destinations on South America’s East Coast, the vessel sails to Barbados, Grenada, French Guiana and Trinidad.

The cruise continues with stops in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, including Recife, Salvador, Punta del Este and Buenos Aires.

After sailing around Cape Horn, the Amera sails to  ports of call in Chile, Ecuador and Peru before returning to the Caribbean via the Panama Canal.

The ship is then scheduled to sail to Panama, Colombia, Aruba, Curaçao and the Dominican Republic while on its way to Florida and the Bahamas.

In the U.S., the cruise features visits to Miami, Port Canaveral, Jacksonville, Charleston, Norfolk, Baltimore and New York City.

On its way back to Europe, the Amera is also set to sail to Portugal’s Azores Archipelago, as well as France and Spain.

Sailing roundtrip from Bremerhaven, the 830-guest vessel is scheduled to return to its homeport in Germany on April 26, 2025.

Originally built for Royal Viking Cruises at the Wartsila Marine Shipyard in Finland, the Amera marked its 35th year of service in 2024.
