Ritz-Carlton’s Ilma Arrives in the Mediterranean Ahead of Inaugural Cruise

Ilma at Port of Lisbon

After being delivered to The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection in mid-July, the Ilma arrived in the Mediterranean earlier this month.

Set to enter service in September, the new luxury ship is currently operating a series of training voyages before welcoming its first guests.

Built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France, the Ilma left its building dock for the first time in late July.

After visits to additional ports on France’s Atlantic coast, the 456-guest ship arrived in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 31, 2024.

According to the local port authority, a special ceremony was held onboard to mark the inaugural visit, which included a traditional plaque exchange.

The Ilma then sailed to Valletta, Malta, before heading to Saint Tropez, a resort town in the French Riviera.

With over 350 crew onboard, the LNG-powered vessel is being prepared for its maiden cruise, which is scheduled to depart from Monaco on September 2, 2024.

The seven-night cruise sails from Monte Carlo to Civitavecchia and features visits to destinations in Italy and France.

Among the ports of call are Bastia in Corsica and Porto Servo in Sardinia, as well as Saint Tropez and Cannes.

The open-jaw itinerary also includes an overnight stay in Livorno, a port that serves as a gateway to other regions of Italy, including Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre and Tuscany.

Continuing its maiden season, the Ilma offers a series of seven- to 12-night cruises in the Mediterranean departing from Greece, Italy and Spain.

In November, the 37,000-ton vessel crosses the Atlantic for the first time ahead of its North American debut.

During the 2024-25 winter, the Ilma is scheduled to offer four- to nine-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas sailing from Puerto Rico and Fort Lauderdale.

Following the Evrima, which debuted in 2023, the ship is the second in the fleet of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. A third vessel, the Luminara, is scheduled to enter service for the luxury brand in 2025.
