According to the 2024 Cruise Industry News Annual Report, Marella Cruises is making significant changes to its deployment this year.
After dropping its summer program in North America and the Caribbean, the UK-based company will see a significant capacity increase in the Mediterranean.
All of Marella’s five ships are set to spend the summer in the region, offering itineraries departing from ports in Spain, Greece, Turkey and Croatia.
The Mediterranean also concentrates most of the company’s capacity for 2024, with a share of nearly 60 percent, Cruise Industry News’ independent research shows.
After joining the fleet in 2023, the Marella Voyager is one of the highlights of Marella’s 2024 summer cruise program.
Between May and October, the 1,850-guest vessel offers three different itineraries in the Western Mediterranean.
Sailing roundtrip from Palma de Mallorca, the cruises feature visits to destinations in Spain, Italy and France.
While the Marella Discovery 2 is also sailing in the Western Mediterranean, three other ships are serving the Eastern Mediterranean.
Sailing from Dubrovnik, Marmaris and Corfu, the Marella Explorer, the Marella Discovery and the Marella Explorer 2 offer cruises to destinations in the Adriatic, the Aegean and more.
With three ships set to sail seasonal programs in the region, the Caribbean is also seeing significant capacity from Marella.
The British company is also operating itineraries in the Canary Islands,as well as repositioning Trans-Atlantic cruises.
An important winter destination for Marella, the Canaries will welcome two ships for full programs: the Marella Discovery 2 and the Marella Explorer.
The vessels sail from Gran Canaria and Tenerife for seven-night cruises that also feature visits to Funchal, in Portugal’s Madeira Island, and Agadir, in Morocco.
