Carnival Splendor Sails to Singapore for Drydock

Carnival Splendor in Sydney

Carnival Cruise Line’s Splendor started a repositioning cruise to Singapore ahead of its upcoming drydock stay.

Departing from Sydney, the 15-night voyage includes stops at destinations in Australia and Southeast Asia before arriving at its final destination on August 5, 2024.

Among the ports of call to be visited are Bali and Lombok in Indonesia, as well as Airlie Beach in Queensland, Australia.

Following the cruise, the Carnival Splendor will undergo routine maintenance, as well as class work and technical upgrades at a drydock in Singapore.

According to a social media update from Carnival Cruise Line Australia, the 2008-built ship will also receive new dining options, updated amenities and refreshed spaces.

Before returning to service, the Carnival Splendor is also expected to receive the company’s new livery, which includes a navy-blue hull with red and white accents.

Initially introduced by the Mardi Gras in 2021, the new colors are gradually being added to the entire Carnival fleet.

With the addition of the new livery to the Splendor, only the Carnival Panorama will continue to sail with the company’s older color scheme.

After a 19-day shipyard stay, the Carnival Splendor is scheduled to welcome guests back onboard on August 24, 2024.

The ship will depart on August 24 from Singapore for an open-jaw cruise to Sydney, with a 16-night itinerary that includes six ports of call with highlights including Jakarta, Darwin and Moreton Island.

In 2025, the Carnival Splendor will be joined in Australia by the Carnival Encounter and the Carnival Adventure, further expanding Carnival Cruise Line’s presence in the South Pacific.

The Carnival Splendor currently operates year-round sailings from Sydney, offering three- to 11-night itineraries to various destinations across the region.

Completing Carnival Cruise Line’s offerings in the South Pacific, the Carnival Luminosa also sails out of Australia on a seasonal basis.
