Nicko Unveils 2027 River Brochure with 22 Ships, New Itineraries

  • November 6, 2026
Cyrano de Bergerac

nicko cruises has published its River Cruises 2027 brochure, featuring new destinations and what are described as wide-ranging itineraries.

In the upcoming season, the company will operate 22 ships on a total of 81 routes across 33 waterways and 21 countries.

“Our new brochure once again demonstrates the remarkable diversity of our river cruises: familiar on the Rhine, Danube and Moselle, charming journeys in France, Portugal, and Croatia or fascinatingly exotic in Asia, Egypt or on the Mississippi,” said Guido Laukamp, managing director of nicko cruises.

“For us, it is not only the itinerary that matters, but the way of traveling: personally, comfortably, and with the time to truly discover the regions we visit. That is exactly what our promise time to discover stands for.”

Yangtze River

A 14-day journey aboard the Victoria Sabrina will take guests back to China.

The journey starts in Shanghai, visiting Zhujiajiao for a glimpse into a quieter, more traditional side of China before continuing to the historic city of Xi’an and Beijing.

Bordeaux and Beyond

An eight-day journey departs from Bordeaux aboard the Cyrano De Bergerac following the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde waterways, allowing guests to explore wines in the Médoc region, the citadel of Blaye and go on an excursion from Libourne to Saint-Émilion.

Guests spend two nights in a hotel in Bordeaux after the cruise.

New Itinerary: Rhine, Moselle and Saar

A new nine-day trip aboard the nickoSPIRIT will sail from Cologne, combining the Rhine, Moselle and Saar rivers.

The ship first heads to Andernach, before focusing on the Moselle River, and visiting destinations including Treis-Karden, Bernkastel and Cochem.

Next up are Remich in Luxembourg and Trier, Germany’s oldest city, before the ship returns to Cologne via Koblenz.

New Ship in Croatia

From 2027, the 38-guest Liberty, which was built in 2011 and refurbished in 2024, will welcome guests on cruises along the Dalmatian Coast.

The company said in a press release that the itineraries remain unchanged and guests can continue to combine the two itineraries departing from Trogir that explore the northern and southern Dalmatian coasts at their own pace on either an eight-day or 15-day cruise.

New Advent and Holiday Cruises

The company is expanding its program for Advent, Christmas and New Year aboard the Rhine Melodie.

The ship will operate a new six-day Advent cruise from Cologne taking guests to Strasbourg and Breisach, combining two destinations along the Upper Rhine.

There will also be a new 14-day Christmas and New Year cruise sailing from Cologne via Amsterdam, Strasbourg and Mainz before returning to Cologne.

New Douro Extension Program

A new extension stay in the Algarve was added to a 12-day journey, which includes a visit to Nazaré and a trip to Praia do Norte, known for its giant waves.

Other highlights include a boat excursion to the Benagil Cave and experiencing Cabo de São Vicente, Europe’s southwesternmost point.

The company also recently announced its event and theme cruises for 2027, including an eight-day itinerary along the Danube focused on hiking aboard the Bolero in 2027.
