Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has offered a peak into what the approximately 250 suites on the Europa 2 will look like after the ship enters drydock in early 2027.
As previously reported, the Europa 2 is scheduled to enter drydock in Singapore January 9-23, 2027, followed by the Europa in Bremerhaven in the fall.
Following the redesign of the two Grand Penthouse Suites on the Europa 2 two years ago, the company noted that the focus will now be on the redesign of Veranda, Ocean, Grand Ocean, Penthouse and Owner Suites.
The existing design concept will be retained and updated with new colors, textures, lighting and furnishings, as seen here.
“The architecture and design of the Europa 2 possess exceptional quality and contemporary relevance. Therefore, the shipyard stay is less about transformation and more about refinement. Many interventions are deliberately subtle, yet their impact will be clearly noticeable,” said Lisa Wilken, head of luxury cruises at Hapag-Lloyd Cruises.
New color concepts will define upholstered furniture and textiles, including curtains, carpets, sofas, bedspreads, armchairs and benches, while the light woodwork will be retained.
Veranda and Penthouse Suites
The Veranda Suites, with 28 square meters of living space, and the more spacious Penthouse Suites, with 42 square meters, will continue to share a common design aesthetic.
Mint hues and subtle coral tones will replace the previous beige tones, with wave-like structures reflecting the forms of the maritime surroundings.

Ocean and Grand Ocean Suites
The Ocean Suites, with 28 square meters of living space, and the 42-square-meter Grand Ocean Suites will feature a color scheme that reflects their names: various shades of blue and gray will define the interior, complemented by warm brown accents.
Carpets with flowing textures echo the movement of the sea, with newly reupholstered design lending the suites a lighter, airier feel.

Owner Suites
The Owner Suites on the top deck, consisting of separate living and sleeping areas, will get new lighting fixtures designed to mimic natural light patterns and complement the changing moods of the lighting.
The furnishings will also be updated to include round dining tables, whose softer lines complement the suite’s clean architectural lines.
The existing beige tones will be combined with subtle blue accents in the textiles, creating a color scheme that lends the living area a fresh atmosphere.
