Virgin Voyages cancelled a cruise scheduled to take place onboard the Brilliant Lady, starting on October 30, 2027.
According to a statement sent to booked guests, the voyage will no longer proceed due to a private charter.
As part of the vessel’s fall season on the West Coast, the seven-night cruise was scheduled to sail to the Mexican Riviera.
Sailing roundtrip from Los Angeles, the itinerary included visits to San Diego, Cabo San Lucas, and Ensenada.
“We’re sorry for the disruption. We know how much planning goes into a vacation like this, and we certainly don’t take this lightly,” the company added.
“To make this right, we’ve put together a few options to give you flexibility to choose what works best for you,” Virgin continued.
According to online reports, guests are being offered the option of moving their bookings to any other seven-night cruise departing from Los Angeles between September 18 and November 13, 2027.
The Brilliant Lady is scheduled to offer cruises to the Mexican Riviera during that timeframe, sailing to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta and more.
Virgin is reportedly honoring the fare paid for the original cruise and any other promotions from the initial booking. The company will also offer a $100 credit to spend onboard the new sailing.
Passengers will also be able to cancel their bookings for a full refund, which will be issued to their original form of payment.
In related news, Virgin recently adjusted the itinerary of the Brilliant Lady due to adverse weather conditions on the West Coast.
As reported by Cruise Industry News, the ship’s October 20, 2026, itinerary was completely rerouted, dropping planned visits to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta.
Instead, the Brilliant Lady is now scheduled to sail to California and Baja Mexico, visiting San Francisco, San Diego and Ensenada.
