Carnival Cruise Line has adjusted the itineraries of two ships as storms churn across North America and the Caribbean.
According to the company’s latest weather alert, the Carnival Radiance and the Carnival Liberty are now sailing revised voyage plans to steer clear of storms along the West and Gulf coasts.
“Our Fleet Operations Center in Miami continues to actively monitor Hurricanes Isaias and Simon, and Tropical Storm Rachel,” Carnival said.
“The safety of our guests and crew is our priority, and our ships will always maintain a safe distance from the storms,” the company added.
To avoid the worst of the weather, the Carnival Radiance canceled its call at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, that was scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2026.
Sailing an eight-night Mexican Riviera cruise, the ship is still expected to return to its homeport of Long Beach on October 11, 2026.
The Carnival Liberty also made a minor change to its itinerary, moving up its call at Cozumel, Mexico, by about an hour.
Part of a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise from New Orleans, the call was originally scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026.
Other ships and homeports remain on watch given the storms’ forecast tracks over the next several days, Carnival added.
As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, Galveston, New Orleans, Tampa and Long Beach are among the ports that may be affected.
The company said the Carnival Breeze, the Carnival Dream, the Carnival Jubilee and the Carnival Panorama are being monitored for potential turnaround changes.
Also sailing in the affected regions, the Carnival Valor, the Carnival Firenze and the Carnival Paradise left their homeports as scheduled in recent days.
Carnival advised passengers on these ships to sign up for text alerts by texting their sailing’s code to CRUISE (278473); each sailing has its own code.
