Carnival Cruise Line shared a weather update, informing guests that eight ships may be affected by developing storms in the Caribbean and on the West Coast.
According to Brand Ambassador John Heald, the statement was shared with passengers on Wednesday afternoon.
“Our Fleet Operations Center in Miami is actively monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias, Tropical Storm Rachel, and Tropical Depression Twenty-E,” the company said.
“The safety of our guests and crew is our priority, and our ships will always maintain a safe distance from the storms,” Carnival continued.
The company noted that, given their forecasted track, a series of homeports, ships and voyages are currently under watch.
Carnival said that ships sailing from Galveston may be affected by Tropical Storm Isaias, including the Carnival Breeze, the Carnival Dream and the Carnival Jubilee.
The three vessels are currently following their original voyage plan and are scheduled to return to Texas over the weekend.
Ships sailing from New Orleans and Tampa may also be affected by Isaias the company added, noting that the Carnival Liberty, the Carnival Valor and the Carnival Paradise are currently following their original voyage plans.
While the vessels are expected to return to their homeports as scheduled, the storm may lead to port closures, Carnival added.
The company advised passengers booked for the next sailings of the potentially affected ships to sign up for text alerts by texting to CRUISE (278473). Different text codes are available for each ship.
On the West Coast, Tropical Storm Rachel and Tropical Depression Twenty-E may impact the operations of the Carnival Firenze, the Carnival Panorama and the Carnival Radiance.
While the Long Beach homeport is not expected to be affected at this time, Carnival also advised passengers to sign up for text alerts to stay up to date.
The company said that more updates from its Communications Team will follow over the next days.
