The Star Princess recently completed its first year of service for Princess Cruises, having been delivered on September 26, 2025.
The second ship in the company’s Sphere class, the LNG-powered vessel was built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.
After leaving the shipyard, the Star Princess welcomed its first guests on October 4, 2025, kicking off a maiden voyage to the Western Mediterranean.
The 11-night cruise sailed roundtrip from Barcelona and included visits to destinations in France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
After additional sailings in the Mediterranean, the 4,300-passenger vessel crossed the Atlantic for the first time in early November 2025.
For its U.S. debut, the Star Princess offered a series of seven-night cruises to the Caribbean departing from Port Everglades.
Soon after its maiden visit to Fort Lauderdale, the ship was christened by godparents Camila and Matthew McConaughey.
The ceremony took place on November 7, 2025, and also included a performance by nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow.
Following its first winter season in the region, the Star Princess repositioned to the West Coast to join Princess’ largest-ever lineup in Alaska.
For its inaugural season in the region, the 175,500-ton vessel sailed roundtrip from Seattle, offering weeklong itineraries to destinations such as Juneau and Ketchikan.
The ship carried approximately 90,000 guests through Alaska during the season, which ended in late September and included over 20 departures.
Returning to the Caribbean, the Star Princess is scheduled to operate its second winter season in Florida in 2026-27.
Starting in late October, the vessel operates a series of four- to seven-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas from Port Everglades.
In April 2027, the ship embarks on a Panama Canal voyage ahead of a second summer season sailing to Alaska from Seattle.
