The Island Princess sailed from Fort Lauderdale earlier this month for a special 50-night cruise to Europe and the Mediterranean.
Sailing roundtrip from Florida, the “Grand Mediterranean Odyssey” itinerary will visit 24 ports in 10 countries and territories before returning to Port Everglades in late November.
After leaving Florida, the Island Princess visited destinations in Bermuda and the Azores before transiting the Strait of Gibraltar and arriving in the Western Mediterranean earlier this week.
The 88,000-ton vessel is now scheduled to visit destinations in Spain, Italy and France, such as Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Ajaccio, Portoferraio and Naples.
Between late October and early November, the ship will sail to the Eastern Mediterranean for ports in Greece, Turkey, Croatia and Montenegro.
Highlights of this leg of the cruise include visits to Santorini, Mykonos, Rhodes, Kusadasi, Dubrovnik and Kotor.
Before crossing the Atlantic for its return to Florida, the Island Princess will also sail to Gibraltar, Morocco and the Canary Islands, visiting Casablanca and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
In addition to embarking on the 50-night cruise, passengers were able to join the Island Princess for individual 25-night segments sailing between Fort Lauderdale and Piraeus in Athens.
Upon returning to Port Everglades, the 2003-built ship is scheduled to offer itineraries to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
In December, the vessel will kick off a series of 16-night cruises to the Panama Canal that sail between Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale.
The open-jaw itineraries are highlighted by a full transit of the Panama Canal, in addition to visits to destinations in the Caribbean and the Pacific coast of Central America.
Extending through late April, the deployment will be followed by a summer season in Alaska and Canada’s British Columbia.
Part of Princess’ eight-ship lineup in the region, the Island Princess will offer seven-night cruises that sail between Vancouver and Whittier.
