Disney Ships Reposition to the West Coast After Alaska Season

  • October 20, 2026
Disney Magic

The Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder recently repositioned to the West Coast after wrapping up Disney Cruise Line’s two-ship season in Alaska.

Both ships arrived in Vancouver for the deployment in May, kicking off a series of weeklong cruises that also included visits to destinations in Canada’s British Columbia.

As part of Disney’s largest season in the region, each vessel offered 15 cruises to Alaska before concluding its season in late September.

Debuting in the region, the Disney Magic offered regular cruises to Icy Strait Point, Ketchikan and Skagway, while the Disney Wonder operated similar itineraries.

Sailing roundtrip from Vancouver, itineraries also had scenic cruising at Dawes Glacier and the Inside Passage.

The two vessels are now operating a fall season on the West Coast, with cruises departing from San Diego, California.

The Disney Magic is offering a series of three- to seven-night cruises to the Mexican Riviera and Baja California that sail to Catalina Island, Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta.

The 1998-built ship will continue to sail in the region through early November, when it is scheduled to offer a 14-night Panama Canal voyage that ends in Galveston.

Operating from the Pacific Coast on a year-round basis, the Disney Wonder is set to offer cruises from San Diego through late April 2027.

The vessel’s schedule includes both short cruises to Baja California and six- and seven-night itineraries to the Mexican Riviera, visiting Isla Catalina, Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlán.

Both ships are set to return to Alaska for the 2027 summer, offering additional itineraries from Vancouver between May and September.

In related news, the Disney Wonder underwent a drydock during its season in Alaska, pausing its operations in the region to undergo maintenance at the Esquimalt Graving Dock in Victoria.
