Royal Caribbean changed the itinerary of the upcoming cruise of the Navigator of the Seas due to the impact from Hurricane Polo.

Sailing from Los Angeles, the Voyager-class vessel is scheduled to offer a seven-night cruise to the Mexican Riviera starting on September 25, 2026.

According to a statement sent to guests, planned visits to Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada will be dropped due to adverse sailing conditions.

“Due to inclement weather from Hurricane Polo near Western Mexico, we’ll now enjoy a relaxing sea day instead of our scheduled visit to Ensenada, Mexico,” Royal Caribbean explained.

The Navigator of the Seas will also drop its planned visit to Cabo San Lucas, replacing it with a new stop in Puerto Vallarta. The vessel will spend the full day docked at the destination, arriving at 8:00 AM and departing at 6:00 PM.

A planned visit to Mazatlán will be moved to Monday, September 28, 2026, while the remainder of the itinerary, which includes three sea days, will be operated as scheduled.

“We’re sorry for the last-minute change caused by weather – your safety is our top priority,” Royal Caribbean said.

“Please know that onboard is one of the safest places to be because our ship can quickly move out of the way of any inclement weather,” the company added.

Royal Caribbean noted that any pre-paid shore excursions booked through the company for Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada will be refunded to guests as onboard credits.

The statement said that these credits can be used anywhere onboard and any unused amounts will be refunded at the end of the sailing.

After operating year-round on the West Coast for five years, the Navigator of the Seas is currently wrapping up its deployment in the region.

In early October, the 2003-built ship is scheduled to embark on a repositioning voyage to Singapore ahead of a winter season in Southeast Asia.
